Friends Only

I have decided to make my journal Friends Only, with the exception of fanfic posts. I don't like the idea of not knowing who's reading my journal. This was never intended to be a public blog, just a place where I could talk to my friends (and now the cyber friends I've acquired over the years).

If you'd like to be LJ friends, feel free to add me--no need to comment here. I'll friend anyone who's not an obvious spambot.

Thank you!

2008 and 2009: The Years in Fanfiction

Characters: Ensemble, but Shamy-focused.
Rating: PG-13 for dialogue.
Spoilers: Nothing specific, but sort of a reaction to the way Season 7 is going.
Word Count: 1054
Disclaimer: Not mine! For fun, not profit.

Summary/Author's Note: The gang becomes understandably suspicious when Amy asks for Sheldon's help fixing her car.

The only reason Raj isn't in this fic is because it's really hard to write dialogue for seven characters in one scene, and I thought it worked better with just the couples. Sorry, Raj!

The Automotive ObfuscationCollapse )
So apparently writing Big Bang Theory fic is a thing that I do now? I will be cross-posting this to An Archive of Our Own, since LJ seems pretty dead these days. But I would welcome a review from anyone who happens along!

Characters: Sheldon/Amy, Leonard, Howard, Penny, Raj
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 1214
Spoilers: Through Season Six, nothing for Season Seven
Disclaimer: Not mine! For fun, not profit.

Summary: "Amy and I have been experimenting with non-physical forms of intimacy."

The Sartorial ImplicationCollapse )
I'm back! Just in time for the new season!

Characters: Ensemble
Rating: PG
Word Count: 1786
Spoilers: Through Season 5, nothing for Season 6
Disclaimer: Not mine! For fun, not profit.

Summary: In the Season 6 premiere, Don finds that fidelity is hard work. (Surprise!) Meanwhile, Pete decides the office needs a cooler image, and Roger spreads merriment with the help of his little bag of tricks.

Mad Men Beyond ThunderdomeCollapse )
I hope you like black comedy! I am posting this here first, to gauge a reaction.

Characters: Ensemble
Word Count: 1345
Spoilers: Major, through "Commissions and Fees."
Rating: PG

Summary: The partners deal with the fallout from "Commissions and Fees." Meanwhile, Peggy learns that the grass is always greener, and Megan auditions for the part she was born to play.

Mad Men of a Certain Advertising AgeCollapse )
Characters: House, Chase, mentions of Chase/Cameron.
Word Count: 642
Spoilers: Through Nobody's Fault. Vague spec based on Chase promo, but most definitely AU.
Rating: PG-13 for language.
Disclaimer: Not mine! Fun, not profit.

Summary: Set a week after the events of "Nobody's Fault." Feedback welcome. Thanks, House, for ending my fanfic drought!

Battle ScarsCollapse )
Fueled by caffeine, I've completed my first fanfic in six months! OK, it's 300 words long, but you have to start somewhere.

Pairing: Ron/Leslie
Word Count: 300
Rating: PG
Spoilers: For end of Season 3, except in alternate universe where Leslie/Ben isn't a thing. Sorry, Ben.
Disclaimer: Not mine! Fun, not profit.

Summary: Ron and Leslie debate whether they should make out. Because not every fic has to be plot-heavy, right?

Consensus BuildingCollapse )
Characters: Peggy-centric. Peggy/Don; Peggy/Pete; Don/Megan; Roger Sterling; Sally, Bobby and Gene Draper.
Rating: PG-13 for language and suggestive dialogue.
Word Count: 7,667
Warning: Character death (not Don or Peggy).
Spoilers: Through Season Four.
Disclaimer: Not mine! Fun, not profit. Title courtesy of John Lennon.

Summary: In 1981, Peggy is keeping a secret.

Just Like Starting OverCollapse )

Mad Men Parody: Two and a Half Mad Men

Characters: Ensemble. Roger/Joan, Don/Megan, Don/Peggy if you squint.
Rating: R for language.
Word Count: 2141
Spoilers: Major spoilers through Season 4.
Disclaimer: Not mine! Fun, not profit.

Summary/Notes: Don's trip to California continues to affect the office as Don, Peggy and Ken try to land a major new account. Meanwhile, Paul Kinsey schemes to get rehired at the firm.

This has absolutely nothing to do with Two and a Half Men, but it does have a lot of Sound of Music references.

Two and a Half Mad MenCollapse )
Characters: House/Cuddy, Rachel Cuddy. Brief mention of House/Stacy.
Word Count: 450
Spoilers: Vague ones based on Season 7 episode descriptions, but no spoilers for actual content.
Rating: PG
Disclaimer: Not mine! Fun, not profit.

Summary: House feels uneasy about his place in Rachel's life. Angstish.

It took way too long to write this drabble, but I'm just happy I finished something.

Fear of CommitmentCollapse )

I know you guys wouldn't do this anyway, but please don't link any comments you make on my journal to Facebook or Twitter. This goes double for friends-locked posts, but applies to all of them.

This is in response to a ridiculous new LJ feature (which they'll hopefully change, thanks to the near-unanimious criticism), not to a specific event.

Thank you.
Characters: Leslie/Tom, Ron, Ann
Word Count: 1634
Spoilers: Through "Freddy Spaghetti"
Rating: PG-13
Disclaimer Not mine! Fun, not profit.

"Leslie learns that dating Tom Haverford has a few distinct advantages."

I'm not a Leslie/Tom shipper, exactly, but I am somewhat intrigued by the concept. And I've been wanting to try my hand at this pairing for almost a year now. So here it is!

Strange BedfellowsCollapse )

Why Not Me?

the that's my favorite! meme

What are your favorite fics? Moments in fics? Original characters? Let me know!

Update to previous post

Here's my new P&R fic community!

The user info says posting is moderated, but it really isn't. I only have to approve posts with suspicious links, to make sure they're not spam. So feel free to post, and be assured your posts won't wait in a moderation queue for weeks at a time (cough).

The community is growing exponentially, with almost six members! But feel free to invite others.
Characters: House/Cuddy, Wilson, Chase, Nolan
Word Count: 3481
Spoilers: Through Season 6 finale, "Help Me." Nothing for Season 7.
Rating: PG-13
Disclaimer: Not mine! Fun, not profit. Title is from "Born to Run" by Bruce Springsteen.
Feedback/Concrit: Hell yes.

Summary/Notes: Scenes from the summer of 2010, from House's perspective.

It's been a couple years since I've written Housefic, but the finale really made me want to try again, and I finally, finally finished this.

Walk With Me Out on the WireCollapse )
Characters: Jack/Liz, Jack/Avery
Word Count: 1575
Spoilers: Through "Future Husband" and for my own ongoing fic series.
Rating: PG-13
Disclaimer: Not mine! Fun, not profit.

Summary/Notes: Back in 1987, I began a fic series in which Liz finds out Jack is engaged to Avery. Here, finally, is the newest installment.

I have been working on this forever, so I'm posting just to my LJ tonight, in case I missed some obvious errors in my determination to finish this fic already!

Oh yeah, and I need hardly add that this thing has gone wildly AU since I began.

Thank you for your time and for patiently following the story.

The Last Temptation of Jack DonaghyCollapse )
I wrote post-finale fic. Um, what?

Also: Title taken from a Nirvana song? Who am I, Joe Hill?

Characters: Jack/Liz, Jack/Avery
Word Count: 471
Spoilers: Through finale.
Rating: PG
Disclaimer: Not mine! Fun, not profit.

Summary: Post-finale fic, and if you've seen it, you know what that probably means.

About a GirlCollapse )
Characters: Ron/Leslie established, Ann, Tom, Jerry
Word Count: 1393
Spoilers: Through "Telethon."
Rating: PG-13
Disclaimer: Not mine! Fun, not profit.

Summary: Ron's unusual condition causes trouble in his relationship with Leslie.

Don"t Sleep So Close To MeCollapse )
Characters: Jack/Liz, Jack/Avery, Frank
Word Count: 893
Spoilers: Through "Future Husband."
Rating: PG
Disclaimer: Not mine! Fun, not profit.

Summary/Notes: Another chapter in this series. Liz wrestles with her feelings for Jack after she learns he's marrying Avery. Soon to be wildly AU, I'm sure.

WIP's are scary and now I'm remembering why I don't do them. But anyway. Enjoy some much-needed comic relief in this chapter. As well as ongoing angst.

Relationship CounselingCollapse )
